5 interactive tools to revive remote collaboration

Boosting collaboration is something that speaks to us. As such, we regularly try out new tools to try to find the little extras that can make work even more efficient (and more fun)!

Today, we bring you 5 tools that we have tested in this regard and that we really liked.

Jamboard

Jamboard is a product in Google’s G Suite. It is a collaborative board available online. A Jamboard is the digital version of the whiteboards on which we used to stick colored post-its during brainstorming sessions. Here is an example! With Jamboard, you can create colored post-its and paste them, arrange them and organize them as you wish.

You can also write, draw (or scribble depending on your artistic talents), or add images. The tool is easy to use and accessible for all types of people, even for those who normally find it challenging to use technology.

It can be a great tool for gathering ideas, making presentations, or doing an illustrated and fun check-in!

Skribbl

At Boostalab, we like to play. Bringing in a moment of play allows us to offer a welcome break to some colleagues who need to smile and take a breather.

Skribbl is an online Pictionary-type game. You have to take turns drawing to make your team guess more or less complex words. As for us, we had words as simple as chair or boat, but also words like unibrow or bungee jump.

Skribbl is available in many languages, but beware, you will have to guess the words in the language you choose! So use the same language setting to avoid misunderstandings. Sore losers will also have fewer excuses this way!

Drawing with the mouse adds an interesting and rather funny level of complexity. Don’t hesitate to try it as a check-in, to relax the atmosphere in times of high stress, or for an impromptu teambuilding activity.

Wooclap

Wooclap is a tool for creating online questionnaires. We have used ourselves during our webinars.

What do we like about Wooclap? The voting system allows participants to highlight their interest in the answers raised by other respondents. We love the interactive and visual aspects of it. We must admit, however, that participants are sometimes so prolific in their responses that it can be difficult to keep track of the votes. But… that’s a nice problem to have, as they say!

For check-ins or presentations to small or medium-sized groups, this is a great tool to use to add a touch of dynamism and interactivity!

Lockee

Here is another game application! With Lockee, you can create virtual padlocks. These virtual padlocks can have different forms: they can take the form of a simple riddle whose key is a word or a sentence. You can also choose to create padlocks with a code, a directional sequence, a choice of color, a pattern to draw, a sequence of switches, or music to play. There’s a lot of fun to be had!

Once the key is found, the content hidden by the lock is revealed. This can be a nice way to make an announcement, to do a check-in in a different way, or just to make your colleagues laugh.

Kumospace

If you’re tired of holding your virtual meetings or happy hours on Zoom or Teams, go to Kumospace!

On Kumospace, you can create virtual rooms that immerse you in the world of a cocktail bar, a classroom, or a space station. Several ready-to-use immersive rooms are available and you can even create your own. If you can’t meet in an original location, you can at least invite them to join you in a virtual place out of the ordinary. And you can now also invite your colleagues to play games!

So what will you test first?

If you have any suggestions, please let us know! We love making new discoveries. Have fun!
