Neuroscience, learning, and human resources

For this new blog post, we wanted to take you a little further into our world and share one of our secrets with you. If you have been following us for a while, you will have understood that at Boostalab, we are passionate about learning!

And it is obvious that learning to learn is one of the essential conditions for leadership development these days.

But how do you build on talent development when your teams are overworked, you’re struggling to get the right people in the right jobs and time seems to be in short supply? When we developed our learning solutions, we asked ourselves how to:

  • Capture learners’ attention.
  • Get them to memorize what they have learned.
  • Help them implement what they have learned in their daily lives.

To find an answer, we turned to neuroscience.

Why associate neuroscience and learning?

We are so convinced of the benefits of neuroscience on learning and human resources projects because, on the one hand, we are based on concrete field experience! Indeed, we have tested the effectiveness of neuroscience with more than 180 cohorts in recent years (which represents more than 2000 people).

Brain health: an essential element in talent development

First, let’s talk about neuroplasticity, also known as neuronal plasticity! Neuroplasticity is the ability of neurons to remodel and change throughout life. In other words, it’s when the brain manages to remain flexible and supple.

Many people believe that once we reach adulthood, our brains become fixed and it is almost impossible to learn new things. This is obviously a myth! After the age of 25, the brain loses some of its flexibility. But with training, it is possible, and even desirable, to stimulate it!

The benefits of keeping your grey matter healthy are many! Learning allows you to:

  • Adapt more easily to change
  • Keep your memory healthy
  • Boost your concentration
  • Develop your curiosity
  • Develop your cognitive abilities

The good news: the more you learn, the better you become at learning!

How to learn well?

Inspired by neuroscience and research, we have developed a learning method to help our participants develop their soft skills like champions! This method is divided into four components.

2nd component: Support as a team

Exchanging and sharing with colleagues, in the spirit of a learning community, is a crucial development factor. In our solutions, the team is an important part of the experience. A study by the Neuroleadership institute tells us that the brain benefits greatly from social interactions. When these interactions are positive, the brain secretes oxytocin, the bonding and trust hormone. This helps, among other things, to strengthen the bonds between individuals, create more motivation, increase the level of trust and stimulate collaboration.

Collective intelligence is full of solutions, new ideas, and rich experiences to share. We would be crazy to do without it!

4th component: Autonomous learning

The level of concentration varies from person to person and from day to day. Having the ability to access content at the right time is also a guarantee of success. Our solutions are available 24/7 so that everyone can visit the content quickly and at their own pace.
