Meet David, Boostalab contributor

David Courchesne is one the people we love working with. More than a facilitator, he’s a coach with an incredible capacity for empathy. He has the human touch at heart, and that’s why we love working with him!

Find out more about David in this interview.

Hello David, can you introduce yourself in a few words?

I’m a coach and an ICF member, but above all I’m a person who deeply loves people. I love understanding what drives people. I love to observe them and help them find their own solutions to be the best they can be.

How did you hear about Boostalab?

I was lucky enough to work with Mélanie Lambert before she founded Boostalab with Solime Gaboriault. That was a few years ago. At the time, we were both working for IC formation. She had the same passion for people.

During the pandemic, I really wanted to collaborate more with partners who had values I held dear. Mélanie embodied many of these values, so it was only natural for me to approach her to see if a collaboration was possible. And the answer was yes!

What do you like about working with Boostalab?

What I appreciate most about working with Boostalab is the fluidity and quality of the exchanges with the team. People always come first. If there are issues, we adjust and do what’s necessary to make sure things run smoothly. I find it interesting to work with people who aren’t afraid to say what they think. It’s simple, straightforward, yet caring and human. That’s what makes me want to continue working with Boostalab.

Could you tell us about your super strength and expertise?

My super strength is undoubtedly empathy. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and try to understand exactly what they need. The word “try” is important: it’s all in the intention.

And that helps me in coaching, it’s my way of helping managers as well as professionals and being useful. In coaching, what’s important is to help the client find his or her own solutions to get there. And my empathy helps me a lot in these situations.

Another of my strengths is that I’m constantly striving to improve. I’m constantly learning. Learning is living!

Learning

While we’re on the subject of learning, what would be your advice on how to learn better?

Listen to what you’re told. When people tell you something, it’s often a gift. When people take the time to tell you, it’s because they want to help you.

Then, observe what you see, see what works and choose your path.

If we want to follow what you do, how do we go about it?

You can easily find me on LinkedIn.
