LOU-TEC set out to reduce turnover and develop the leadership skills of its managers—key players in engaging and retaining their teams.
As a leader in Quebec’s equipment rental industry, LOU-TEC is expanding rapidly. With two acquisitions this year, the company continues its mission to consolidate the rental market across the province.
To support this growth and position itself as an employer of choice, LOU-TEC made a bold move: investing in leadership development as a lever for cultural transformation.
The goal: reduce turnover and strengthen leadership—because great managers build great teams.
For companies with a strong field presence, learning needs to be straightforward and hands-on. LOU-TEC managers had little time to spare, so the experience needed to be quick, relevant, and above all—actionable.
Boostalab’s interactive team training paths were a perfect fit, offering:
“Excelling as a team” was the theme chosen to kick things off. Managers explored what makes a team both high-performing and continuously learning. They learned how to bring out their team’s strengths and motivations, and how to set goals collaboratively.
Along with short videos and self-assessments, the program included toolkits designed to spark reflection and help apply the content right away.
What really stood out? LOU-TEC didn’t just use the content—they took ownership of it.
Matthieu, our project lead, made everything smooth. He gave us everything we needed to lead the learning sessions ourselves.
Facilitating sessions internally helped create stronger team bonds. It also gave leaders a front-row seat to the conversations and breakthroughs the content was sparking.
Even though soft skills can be hard to measure, LOU-TEC is already seeing a difference—after just two cohorts.
We hit our participation target, and we’re seeing a real shift in how our teams view their role as managers.
Charles-André also highlighted broader impacts:
This program has helped democratize career growth. It shows employees who want to lead that it’s not only possible—but that we’ll support them along the way.
And for team members coming from recent acquisitions? It’s reassuring to join a company that puts skill development front and centre.
We’re proud to support companies like LOU-TEC that invest in their people. One step at a time, we’re building a more human—and more high-performing—world of work.
If LOU-TEC’s journey sounds familiar and you’re ready to elevate your own leaders, let’s talk. We’d love to explore how we can help you overcome your challenges.
