At Boostalab

Every month, we introduce you to a Boostalab member or collaborator. This time, we’d like to introduce you to Joanie, a bubbly colleague who always has a good laugh, and whose words are often full of wisdom.
I’m delighted to have joined the Boostalab team to help change the world, one human being at a time (yes, nothing less!). I love connecting with people, learning and understanding. I love to laugh and work in a team… and for the team. I love being outdoors!
I accompany organizations in their search for clarity and the means to develop soft skills. I particularly appreciate those moments when, in a very bumpy and complex situation, we manage to co-create THE solution that suddenly brings clarity and peace. It’s often the start of a series of concrete, meaningful actions that generate meaning and well-being at work! That’s what drives me at Boostalab.
For as long as I can remember, the professional posture that has always made me feel at home has been one of accompaniment.
I’ve helped travelers discover many corners of the world (as a tour guide), I’ve helped students integrate into Quebec university culture (as a lecturer and program manager), and I’ve helped small and large organizations transform and grow.
In addition to the company’s values, which are very much in line with my own, I’ve met a particularly enthusiastic, caring team with whom I feel I can surpass myself, develop and learn.
I love the way we create learning solutions! Everyone contributes in their own way to our common goal, and the results are amazing! Our creative process generates little gems!
I fundamentally believe that human beings need to feel in control of their own development in order to truly reveal themselves. Autonomy and freedom are for me values that are part of my fiber and that I also find in the Boostalab fiber. In particular, the Boostalab approach seeks to awaken people’s intrinsic motivation to develop through hyper-appealing, rigorous and USEFUL content.
OK, I admit it: I’ve been a Boostalab fan for a long time!
I think I have a certain ability to connect with people. I use this ability to connect with a wide variety of people, which takes me out of my comfort zone and ensures that I always remain curious about people, especially those who are very different from me. That’s where the richness lies!
I love hiking in the mountains. There’s something meditative… and active about it. If we were to indulge in a dubious play on words, I’d probably say that for me, the mountains are “medit-active” (sorry, that was too tempting!).
In the midst of ambiguity and uncertainty, it’s better to see what the situation makes possible than what it might take away. This perspective on life very often guides me towards the beautiful, the good and the surprising!
When nothing is sure, everything is possible.
When I had just finished my bachelor’s degree and was wondering what to do next at the master’s, I took on a lot of small professional contracts that required a good dose of humility. These included running milk-tasting kiosks (yes, I know, it’s weird to taste milk!) in grocery stores and teaching cooking and magic (!) classes in elementary schools.
As well as encouraging me to continue my studies, I promised myself that I would always keep a kind and dignified eye on all the people who hold jobs like the ones I temporarily held. I realized that I had the privilege of doing something else in life, which is not the case for everyone.
